My new Love

We've had our 1995 Honda Accord for 11 years now, and it's in pretty bad shape.  Don't get me wrong, it starts every time you turn the key, and besides the usual age-related repairs it's required, it's been a reliable car.  It's got a lot of quirks-rust spots, the speedometer doesn't work all that well (accordingly it says we only have 105,000 miles on it!  When we probably have double that at least).  So, when a dealer of ours accidentally ran his trailer into one of the doors at work a while back, we weren't too concerned about getting it repaired.  Our deal has always been that we'll keep the thing as a commuter for as long as it runs, which will probably be another five years at least.  But a door is expensive to repair, and our dealer had good insurance.  So, Brian and I decided to throw responsibility to the wind (just this once) and split the repair money to spend as we wished.  What a great excuse to finally buy the dream camera I've been wanting for years now!  I just got it in the mail yesterday and couldn't get the memory card in fast enough.  I snapped as many pictures as I could just on full auto before I had to go to a girls-night party and visiting teaching.  I am in love!   I finally have a camera that will let me take pictures inside my dark house.  And it's also so quick, I can actually get a picture of Leah in focus!  I can't wait to learn all the in's and out's of this marvel and get really good at photographing the world around me. 

I didn't modify these photos in any way yet, they haven't even been loaded into Photoshop. 

A Vist from Grandma

Grandma Peterson came for a visit just a couple of days after Leah's birthday.  The kids had so much fun with Grandma.  She gave Leah this coloring book, so they spent some time coloring together.  This trip was a big milestone for Leah.  It's the first time she's given out hugs to anyone besides her mom & dad and siblings!  She gave grandma good hugs and played and played with her.  It was fun to watch.
